Community Support
Ronald McDonald
House
Helping families stay close to their children during medical treatment — one aluminum tab at a time.
About the Program
A home away from home
Ronald McDonald House is a place in West Sacramento, California that gives families a place to stay while their child is being cared for at UC Davis or Shrines Hospital. For families in crisis, having a safe, affordable place nearby makes all the difference.
One way we help support them is by collecting aluminum can tabs. We collect them and send the tabs to RMHC — they then send the tabs to aluminum companies and receive a check back. This money helps cover the costs for families in need who are staying there.
How It Works
Save tabs, change lives
Save Your Tabs
Pop the aluminum pull tabs off any canned drinks or food — soda, beer, soup, whatever. Set them aside in a bag or jar.
Call Us for a Pickup
When you’ve collected a good amount, give us a call. We’ll come to you and pick them up — no need to drop them off anywhere.
We Ship to RMHC
We collect and ship the tabs to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, who convert them to funds for families in need.
Families Are Helped
RMHC sends the tabs to aluminum companies and receives a check that directly helps cover housing costs for families with sick children.
